Al-Taib Boulangerie opened its first store in November 1995 on Guy Street in Montreal. A small shop with a big heart, it was one the first bakeries to introduce specialties of the Middle East to the downtown sector. Coupled with very affordable prices, this little taste of Lebanon soon grew to be one of Concordia University’s popular eateries.

Montreal natives and newcomers alike have shown avid patronage of Al-Taib since its establishment. Manakish is a mainstay of the bakery, and are made with a fantastic variety of flavors to choose from – including thyme, cheese, meat and spicy sausage. However, the item that has put Al-Taib on the map is our pizza-by-the-slice. In time we expanded our menu to include Middle Eastern sweets, drinks, as well as an expansive salad bar.

In 1997 the store relocated to its present day address at 2125 Guy Street. Just a stone’s throw from Guy/Concordia metro near de Maisonneuve, students and tourists make their way to the hot Lebanese bakery known to be open 24 hours. Our popularity among the locals is evident in the multiple approaches we’ve received from people hoping we’ll open stores nearer to other schools and neighborhoods. Today, there are three more Al-Taib locations, including one at McGill University.

In 2005, to our great joy, we were named in a popular journal The Mirror as #1 among those surveyed for fast & cheap food, #2 in Montreal for late night eateries, #3 for best pizza and #4 in Montreal for best Middle Eastern cuisine.

At Al-taib, we are known to be one of the best lebanese bakeries in Montreal. We offer many sweets and customized baking to our customers. Everone loves our Pizza slices cooked fresh every day. We are known for our Manakish in Montreal. Concordia University Students love our food because it's not too expensive and the know that we are always open. Concordia University loves our Pizza. We are also known for our Baklava in Montreal. If you want fresh baklava, come to our restaurant.
